#580  Antique/Primitive Chesapeake Bay Waterman's Boat Scoop

Sometimes we all get swamped and just need to bail! Back in the day, Chesapeake Bay watermen would use a wooden scoop like this to bail out excess water that may have sloshed over the sides of their boats. Today, more modern metal versions are still widely used. This old one is 16" long and about 8" at its' widest point. We are showing it filled with 2 dried gourds and a faux pear (included) but can see it filled with shells for a great beach house look, Christmas greens, small candles, etc. Found on Virginia's Eastern Shore, this is truly a unique nautical relic from days gone by. ~Freight (standard mail) included. However, insurance is optional and can be purchased for an additional $2.20 @ checkout ~ within the continental U.S.~
