Apothecary Jar Festive

#783

Regular price $135.50

This wonderful apothecary jar dating to the late 19th century with a broken pontil and pronounced kicked up bottom makes for a great piece to own. The Slender form and wide mouth accommodates faux greens with a decorated strap handled gingerbread cookie cutter that are also included.

The bottom is rough where the pontil scar is located and is an authentic feature. A couple areas above the shoulder have a popped bubble appearance but are smooth to the touch as referenced in images 7 & 8. There is also a small scratch above the shoulder area as well. The rim is smooth having a beaded edge. Delightful wavy glass appearance showing tiny bubbles sprinkled at random are also a great feature.

There are no cracks or chips to report. The original tin lid has spotty dark areas that seem to overtake the gold color. A split personality of dark and pewter hues are present underneath the lid. The cookie cutter is in good condition without any breaks.

This decorated jar can perhaps be incorporated with your kitchen antiques on a shelf or can be placed on a window ledge so it can sparkle in the sunlight. Don’t forget about your mantle as this jar would look amazing incorporated with a lit garland and a fire in the hearth just below. The contents can be replaced for each upcoming season as well. Enjoy!
