The holidays are all about fun and enjoyment and this next offering is a great traditional piece that offers an invitation to play checkers while that delicious Christmas dinner is ready to be served. It lends folk art appeal and the warm earth tone colors will fit into any color scheme.

This is an exceptionally nice checkerboard sporting a warm nutmeg brown with a hint of oxblood red paint that dates to the last quarter of the 19th century. The original surface shows signs of wear but the overall appearance is wonderful.

There is slight wood and paint loss to outermost edge as shown in image 8. Defined gallery edge for holding playing pieces are located on each side. It is one board construction having round head nails. A visible horizontal crack starts on the left hand side near the middle section and terminates about three quarters of the way into the playing field.

Expected wood shrinkage to the top and bottom locations of the gallery sections where playing pieces were kept. There are two newer Phillips screws attached on each side to perhaps accommodate a wire for hanging. This piece is heavy, strong and well made. It can grace any area of your home lending interesting attributes of style, color and of course that Wow factor! Enjoy!

Measures 24 3/4" across, 19" deep (front to back) & 1 1/4" thick.

~Freight (Standard Mail) included, however Insurance is optional and can be purchased @ checkout ~ within the continental U.S.
