If you collect yelloware you are in for a treat! This beautiful footed bowl lending a slip dot design was first introduced by Hull following the introduction of the “Zane Grey” line that was known for their blue banded pattern in the 1920’s. A limited production run of this particular bowl equates to the rarity. Since this piece was labor intensive as the slip was applied by hand Hull decided to drop the line shortly after it was introduced.

A series of cheerful salmon flowers along with opposing indigo blue posies are arranged in a concentric pattern that wrap around the bowl. Twin bands portraying a buttermilk color seem to hug and protect the middle designed floral feature. The soft butter ground is a neutral element that works well with the rest of the accent coloration.

Some of the flowers have a smeared appearance with one area that shows excess paint near the top as shown in images 3, 6, 7 & 8 but the bands are very well articulated. There is also a manufacturing flaw on the very top edge of the bowl by way of a tiny crack and tiny hole as shown in the above referenced images. A sneaky extra piece of clay seemed to piggyback the body near the floral design as noted in image 3. Very tiny glaze pops can be found at random throughout the body as shown in images 9 & 10.

This generous sized bowl has a slight out of round appearance as referenced in image 5. The inside bottom area does have gentle crazing along with three raised areas that did escaped the glazing process. There are no cracks or chips to report as this lovely bowl is in overall great condition.

The only bowls I could find and compare with this example are currently listed on the internet by offering a “Buy It Now” price ranging from $425.00 to $600.00. Wow! I was able to purchase this bowl for a reasonable cost and therefore I am passing on the savings to you. If you collect yelloware this fine and rare example would be a perfect fit among your favorites. Enjoy!

Bowl stands 4 ½” tall, measures almost 11” across the top and measures 5 ½” across the bottom.

~Freight (Standard Mail) included, however Insurance is optional and can be purchased @ checkout ~ within the continental U.S.
