Early Redware Decorated Lamp Tidy

#858

Regular price $115.50

This decorated circa 1840 redware lamp tidy is not only a special piece to own but is very hard to find as well. A small lamp such as a Betty would have rested on the top to gain more light by raising it up from the ground.

The middle area exhibits sgraffito decoration along with bold manganese splotches. The color is just beautiful and does make for a showy piece! This tidy is taller compared to the common 3 ½” variety which makes it more rare. There is one large chip located at the bottom but is not totally visible from the front. Other chips are present near the top edge but there are no visible cracks to report.

This lamp tidy should entice both redware and early lighting collectors because you have the best of both worlds found in this great piece! Enjoy!

Tidy measures 5” tall, 3 ½” across the top and measures 4 ¼” across the bottom.

~Freight (Standard Mail) included, however Insurance is optional and can be purchased @ checkout ~ within the continental U.S.
