Colonial Style Hanging Candles on Rod Great Early Look

#672

Regular price $48.50

These colonial style candles will add instant charm to your homestead and just beg to be hung on a mantle or from a shaker peg rack. The candles are suspended from a metal rod knotted by the wick. Originally early candles would have been removed from a candle mold and fastened to a metal rod or hung from a wooden candle dryer.

I added an array of cheerful dried flowers in between the candles that lends delightful color to the overall look tied with civil war era fabric that has been reproduced. One of the candles has a slight “character” bend and a long drip on the side, (candle on the far right) as referenced in image 6. Overall the condition is very good!

The candles sport a beautiful spice color mixed in with subtle, berry red highlights. This piece not only creates old fashioned charm but also depicts the authenticity of the last step in the candle making process of the colonial era. Enjoy!

Candle Rod measures 14” across (right to left) and candles measure 9” tall.
