This early 19th century tool carrier sporting boot jack leg cut outs has grand display opportunities because of the form that includes two divided sections located inside. The warm patina resembles a chestnut hue even though this piece was fashioned from pine. Square nail construction is a plus (image 8) along with the wire handle that terminates in two locations (inside the box) on opposing sides.

There are areas of appropriate wear as shown, along with tiny holes sprinkled randomly throughout. A chip is present on the underside located in the corner shown in image 15. Two holes can be found at the end of the iron handle where it joins the wood counterpart and two nails are missing from these top locations. A crack appears on the left hand side running in a vertical position starting at the top and terminates near the bottom where the “V” is located.

The surface sports a mellow patina incorporated with dark areas that deliver authenticity in a big way! All of the edges boast a round appearance which is exactly what you want to see in a piece this old. The iron handle was also forged and adds plenty of durability to this interesting carrier.

Image 11 shows the two divided sections used to store nails and other small necessities while the larger recessed area held tools that stand at the ready. This piece was well made as time can attest and is in overall good condition.

Carriers such as this one can be used as a coffee or side table near a chair and filling it with fun primitives will enhance the overall beauty! Flax along with flax combs, rag balls and homespun wool creates an impressive sewing and spinning theme. For the holidays why not place a tree inside the large area while ornaments, an array of putz sheep and a small cabin can reside in the divisions off to the right. Cloved oranges and apple slices laid upon greens that can rest inside the divided compartments are also another idea.

This carrier would also look great in the privy filled with folded towels, lye soap and old bottles filled with bath salts too! It can be carried from room to room if you decide to use it elsewhere! These carriers with legs are not easy to find so don’t hesitate if you love it! Enjoy!

Carrier stands 21” tall with the handle in the upright position, 13 ½” tall without the handle, measures 21” across and measures 11” deep. Cubbies measures around 6” by 4 ½”.

~Freight (Standard Mail) included, however Insurance is optional and can be purchased @ checkout ~ within the continental U.S.
