Four wood runners support the bottom and were interwoven in four places showing a folded over appearance in the middle section on the outside front and back locations.  There are some random dark areas present on the bottom.  Overall, this basket shows well as most of the weavers are accounted for.  This piece was very well made by a skilled artisan and the construction is sound.
