Earthy and glorious yelloware, Rockingham glaze milk bowl filled with festive pumpkin gourds will surely bring autumn enchantment into your home. The rich, dark chocolate mottling set against a pale yellow ground evoke bold color contrast that is quite striking.
Gentle crazing throughout without any cracks or chips to report. A couple tiny glaze pops, one under the outside edge and the other on the bottom. The surface has a quiet sheen that gently captures the light. Some minor scratches inside are present but are hard to detect without a light source present. Very good condition for a piece that dates to the late 19th to early 20th century.
Three gourds are also included with the bowl and nest perfectly inside. I added real pumpkin stems to the tops of two gourds while the other sporting a bumpy appearance has the original stem. You can certainly add more gourds, corn husks, wee pumpkins and whatever else your heart desires. Perfect centerpiece for an autumn table and will carry over into Thanksgiving as well. Add greens and red berries for the holidays with perhaps a stand of lights. Fresh apples can be substituted for the gourds as well. Enjoy!
Bowl measures almost 11 ¼” across, stands 3” tall and measures 6 ¾” across the bottom.
