Antique Lockwood Cincinnati Heart Baking Shortbread Muffin Cake Pan Mold Commercial Use

#212

Regular price $135.00

What is it about hearts that is just so appealing? Maybe it is the symbolism paired up with traditional intrigue and folklore that makes our hearts, (no pun intended), skip a beat. This piece has it all and would be a wonderful addition to your heart collection as it is hard to find and not commonly seen!

This baking pan was used commercially at one time as twelve wells are present. These wells may have turned out delicious muffins, small cakes or shortbread from the bakery. What is an interesting feature is the indented heart at the bottom of each deep well. They had a purpose which was to add fruit or a decoration for each cake on top of the heart. How fun would that be to decorate these little areas with our culinary imagination? :)

The pan is fashioned from heavy sheet iron for strength and durability. This piece dates to the early 1900's and is marked "Lockwood Cincinnati" in raised letters that form a circle as shown in image 4. This baking pan is heavy and the quality is unsurpassed. There is surface wear on this piece and the dark patina is wonderful. Several areas show indications of light surface rust, especially on the bottom (See image 2) but deep pitting is non existent. No holes or dents are present either. There is a small hole conveniently located at the top for hanging.

This fabulous rare baking pan would make an awesome display hung on the wall or laid on a farmhouse table! Certainly showy and will add unique primitive charm to your homestead! Enjoy!

Measurements are 17" by 13" across & almost 2" Tall. The wells are about 1 1/2" Tall & 3 1/2" across the widest point of each heart.
