Pretty child’s britches dating from the late 19th to early 20th century fashioned from woven cotton sporting a soft corn flower blue pin stripe on off white ground. Stockings and custom wire hanger included along with festive holiday greens await a shaker peg rack in your lovely home.
An area in the back on the right leg shows a color run probably the culprit from washing as fabrics were not colorfast in those days. There are no other stains to report. This textile was entirely hand stitched and partially lined. There are three pockets, one on each side and the other is located in the back. The cuff on the bottom has a single button on each leg.
Silk child’s stockings having a ribbed cuff are in great condition without any holes or stains to report. Contemporary small clothespins were used to attach the britches to the hanger as well as the silk stockings to the top of the britches by way of the belt loop. Nice textile that displays well especially for holiday decorating. Enjoy!
Overall height including hanger is 25 ¾” tall. Britches are 19” tall and measure 13 ¾” across. Stocking are 10” tall and measure 2 ½” to heel (widest point).
