This vintage pig breadboard will be a perfect fit for farmhouse decorating and he promises not to get any bigger! He is just adorable and told me he loves to wear a wreath around his neck for holiday decorating as he would be in “pig heaven”!
This piece appears to be fashioned from either a walnut or oak hardwood and does have consistent wear in all the right places. The breadboard has a medium nutmeg hue on the outer edges while the middle portions…. including the front and the back…. lend more of a dry attic surface.
There is a chip on the end of his turned up snout as referenced in image 5. Continuous wear can also be found on the back foot near the edge on both sides (see image 6) and on the edge of his ear (back only) as shown in image 9. There is a defined circle mark on the backside (see in image 8). A deep scratch is also visible on the back that runs in a vertical position starting at the top edge going down towards the middle (about 2 ¾” long). Chop marks are present on the front just above his belly toward the left hand side. A dark area can be found under his chin as referenced in image 4.
The edges of this board are smooth from years of use and this piece even possess a hanging hole in the center of his tail. This darling pig would feel right at home among-st your other chopping or breadboards and can actually stand up on his own! Good boy! He will certainly add plenty of whimsy where ever he is placed lending that special country charm we all seem to favor! Enjoy!
This breadboard stands 7 ½” tall @ the tallest point from the back to his feet, measures 14” across (right to left) and is ¾” thick.
