Winter Cabin in the Woods Oil Painting

Tranquil vintage oil painting depicting a cabin in the woods out in the country laden with fresh fallen snow is a peaceful scene that seems to resonate with our quiet side. The residents are cozy inside referencing the soft glow cast from the windows and are enjoying the warmth of a fire as shown by the smoke escaping from the chimney. A creek now frozen over seems to hold the water captive until the promise of spring.

Signature (initials in this case) are illegible as show in the bottom left-hand corner. Painting is in great condition without any rips or stains to report.

I painted the frame as there was minor loss (as shown) on the “hobnail” raised section that acts as a border near the edge. This section was intentionally painted a light mustard color to offset the nutmeg ground and adds dimension to the overall appearance. Paint has not been sealed and shows a flat matte rustic surface. Great smaller size that can be leaned up against a table or worked into a cupboard.

Stands 11” tall, measures 9” across and is 1” deep.
