What a beautiful foggy morning it turned out to be here on our farm. If that was not enough right after the photo shoot of this next unique offering taken off the upstairs balcony, I happened to glance at the river only to find some interesting bufflehead ducks swimming downstream as shown in image 26. Even though there is still snow on the ground from the last storm, spring is on its way, thank goodness!

I filled this delightful wooden pitcher with realistic looking forsythia and sun kissed tulips that will soon be blooming here on our farm. The buttercup yellow colors mixed in with crisp white accents lend a charming look to the forsythia that grace the pitcher with beautiful color accents.

This pitcher is very interesting and sports a dark color with red highlights mixed in with variations of creamy sorrel hues. The form is wonderful boasting a raised band in line with the handle. The body terminates at the bottom into a small round pedestal that is attached to the footed base. There is a gradual cascading step on the base which adds unique detail and style as referenced in image 14.

There are color variations in the wood on the footed base as shown in images 20 and 21. Just above the handle there is another area that is lighter than the rest of the surface as referenced in image 11. These inconsistent color variations sometimes occur when the wood does not want to cooperate with the stain applied and the result is a “hit and miss” appearance which lends whispers of character.

There is a tiny hairline crack located on the pronounced pouring spout as shown in images 17 & 18. The age of this piece is unknown. Overall the condition is very good with just a couple areas that have small recessed indentations (nicks) that are hard to detect. This pitcher is heavy and sturdy. The texture on the bottom is not as smooth as the rest of the pitcher as shown in image 22 and appears to have an extended piece of wood in the center location. However this piece does sit level.

This pitcher is really a beauty and filled with spring flowers presents an awesome and special centerpiece especially for a dining room table sprinkled with an array of Easter collectibles that will add springtime magic to your homestead instantly! Enjoy!

Overall height is 16 ½” including the flower arrangement, pitcher by itself stands almost 10” tall near the spout, measures almost 9” near the back where the handle is located, measures 5 ¾” across the top opening and 5” across the bottom.

~Freight (Standard Mail) included, however Insurance is optional and can be purchased @ checkout ~ within the continental U.S.
