When I spotted this berry bucket sporting the best sage green paint I knew I had to acquire it for your consideration. The color is so versatile as it can be displayed during the spring season as well as for autumn and of course Christmas! The paint may not be original as there are traces of buttermilk white hues poking through but if you think of how many times a house was painted though the years, it makes sense!
Berry buckets are wonderful as the size is smaller than their relatives and can fit just about anywhere but still make a statement. All of the autumn botanicals housed inside are also included along with the bittersweet and oyster checked fabric. A couple labels are present on the front and have been painted over as shown in images 5 & 6. There are also areas of paint loss sprinkled throughout referencing the front, sides, back as well as the top edge and inside bottom areas. Metal bands keep the staves in place and this piece is tight without any wiggles to report. A darling bail handle was used as a carrying feature and when in the upright position this little bucket appears at its best!
The autumn arrangement held inside the bucket includes pear shaped gourds, quince, a wee felted pumpkin nestled in a dark pod, a realistic looking apple and a cluster of acorns. These accents are placed on top of homespun fabric and plastic bags were used as a filler housed below. There are so many decorating possibilities for this awesome bucket as the contents can be replaced with greens and berries along with some festive gingerbread men or cookie cutters for holiday decorating. This piece can also reside in your privy filled with guest towels too and bars of olde lye soap too. Now all you have to do is decide where to place it in your beautiful home! Enjoy!
Measurements are a "guesstimate" as I already packed up the bucket before measuring. Opps and I apologize! Bucket is 6” tall and measures 7” across the top opening (right to left).
