Diminutive Staved Bucket filled with Holiday Suprises

#1040

Regular price $75.50

Unusual diminutive staved bucket showing an interlocking bottom band filled with holiday greens, berries, a Putz sheep, two bottle brush trees (one vintage with red base while the other is contemporary) and a chenille candy cane seeks a cozy corner to reside in. Bucket has been recently repaired as the bottom band came loose and also suffered separation to the interlocking feature. Helper nails were used to sturdy the band and keep it in place.

Bucket dates to the last quarter of the 19th to early 20th century and shows rich patina throughout lending dark areas to the existing highlights in the wood. Condition is still good as the staves are secure and tight.

A lone Putz sheep has taken up residence inside surrounded by greens and bottle brush trees. She has a couple of chips on both ears and there was also some paint loss to her hooves. Upon request of the sheep, I color matched the paint in both areas to make her happy. Her neck is a little loose but secure.

The bucket was filled with soft carded wool to gain height for the contents. Festive and unique holiday piece that also offers the opportunity for future decorating as the contents can easily be removed. Enjoy!

Overall height Including contents is 6” tall, bucket itself stands 3 ½” tall, measures 4 ¾” across the top opening and measures 4” across the bottom. Sheep stands 2” tall (legs to top of her head), measures 2” from her nose to tail and measures ½” across her back. Vintage tree stands 3 ½” tall and measures 2” across @ the widest point near the bottom, base measures ¾” across the bottom. White tree stands almost 3 ½” tall, measures 1 ¼” across @ the widest point near the bottom, base measures ½” across the bottom.
