We love log cabins but they're sure getting hard to find. So, we were really pleased to have come across this one recently in Virginia! It's all hand-made and opens at the top like a box which adds the little bit of extra storage that we all can use. The measurement (of wooden base) is about 9 1/2" x 6". It's about 7 1/2" tall from the wooden base to the top of the chimney. There are a couple of stacks of wood on the front side and a miniature barrel next to the chimney. The back side has an additional wood stack. Judy photographed this back in the woods behind her Virginia farmhouse and it looked right at home -- a glimpse into earlier times on Virginia's Eastern Shore. Can you smell the wood-smoke and hear the sounds of logs being felled to clear the heavily wooded fields for planting? We can!
