I just love burning candles in my home, don't you? This 16 ounce Hand Poured Soy Candle is special because it burns cleaner and lasts longer. The scent reminds me of a semi sweet vanilla spice with a touch of pumpkin. Perfect for the autumn season as it will not only brighten up your homestead casting soft shadows in the evening hours but will also offer a pleasing fragrance that I know you will love!
I found a wonderful image of a hand drawn pumpkin and decided to brighten it up by painting lovely earth tone accents inside. Once completed, I copied this on paper, aged it and then backed it with a warm, honey colored burlap. A primitive little match holder basket was created from old wire and hangs lazily off to the left. This was wrapped with skill and hangs from the string. I added three wooden matches for convenience when you want to light your candle.
A wonderful grain texture in a beautiful nutmeg brown was applied to the outside of the glass jar and looks as primitive as can be!! The lid for this candle jar is threaded and can easily be unscrewed to light the candle housed inside and then replaced when you are finished.
Inspiration came from a dried orange when I created "Mrs. Pumpkin". Her face has folk art appeal boasting a happy smile with a bit of sparkle in her eyes as she is just thrilled to make your acquaintance! See image 7. She just hangs out when placed on top of the jar and is quite happy with her surroundings! When the candle is spent you can still use this jar for an interesting display piece on a cupboard shelf lending charming results! Enjoy!
The candle stands 9" Tall including Mrs. Pumpkin and her stem, (5 1/4" Tall without Mrs. Pumpkin), measures 2 3/4" across the top & 2" across the Bottom. The wee match holder measures 2 1/2" Tall including the wire hanger & about 3/4" across. Mrs. Pumpkin stands 4 1/4" Tall including the stem, (1 1/2" Tall without the stem) & is 1 1/2" across the widest point in the middle.
