Gourd anything is so popular right now and has such a fabulous look that is a nice fit with primitive antiques and early cabin decorating. These gourds came from a farm in Alabama and were made into a bowl and a dipper spoon. The color is a blend of nutmeg's, licorice with warm butternut squash tones. The texture is some what uneven with bumps and raised areas that add so much character!
The inside was much lighter than the rest of the outside gourd so I decided to use paint to keep the colors consistent. Very dry look and feel that is really great! The dipper spoon has almost a leopard jasper look with plenty of mottled areas and dark color variations. The inside of this spoon was painted as well.
The bowl is about 4" Deep and can hold a variety of things. For example, in image 4, I used some of my "Primitive Settler's Mix" available in the Seasonal Goods section, under Spring & Summer. It really enhances this bowl and brings something different and unique to the table, so to speak, no pun intended. :) ~Please Note~: Mother Nature is not perfect so the sizes and colors of the Gourd Bowls & Dipper Spoons will vary slightly from the image above.
This wonderful primitive set will look great in your homestead and is perfect for that cabin style we all find cozy and charming. Enjoy!
Measurements for the bowl are 4" Tall, 7" across and about 1/4" thick. The dipper spoon is 10 1/4" Tall and the deep well is 2 1/2".
