Primitive Rabbit Artisan Made Antique Tin Berry Bucket Pail with Gourd Eggs and Prairie Grass
Easter will be here before you know it and with this in mind, I am presenting a unique offering that will be prefect for this special holiday. Meet Willow, who is one of a kind! She is just bursting with folksy charm and is now ready for adoption.
I created Willow from my "mind's eye" and used old materials in keeping with tradition. She has a hand ~ stitched face that has naive form and simplicity seems to rule the day! At least it did that day! Wire was hidden inside her ears so you can form them into any shape you desire to add temperament and personality that she will abide by!
Her dress is fashioned from old boucle wool with a chocolate brown and nutmeg tweed check. A little Make ~ Do patch appears on the front of her dress and an old piece of quilt was used. The dress is open in the back but stays closed as it is secured at the top with a running stitch. Her arms are made from twigs and wrapped in old homespun fabric and so is her body.
Willow needed a temporary home so I placed her in an antique Berry Pail for safe keeping. She shares her home with Prairie Grass, primitive Gourd Eggs, Sweet Annie and a couple of Ornamental Poppies I received from my friends garden that have since dried. The pail is in great condition without any holes or rust to report. The handles that accommodate the wire have been applied with rivets and are sturdy.
This unusual Easter Basket will add a touch of whimsy and Spring charm to your home because Willow told me so! She promises not to eat too much...a carrot will suffice now and then! Easter Blessings!!! Enjoy!
Willow measures 10" overall height (including ears), 7 1/2" without ears, & 3 1/2" across the widest part of her face. Overall Height of the Bucket is 9 1/4" (including handle), 4 1/4" without), & 6" across the bottom. Gourd Eggs are approximately 3" by 1 3/4" but do vary a little in size.
