Saltbox Hand Painted Bowl Primitive Autumn Fall Theme

I gather inspiration from photographs that depict beautiful landscape settings, out in the country, on an crisp autumn day. Nature provides magnificent color to the majestic maple trees while the earth below acts as a vibrant blanket for each leaf that is shed. My interpretation with autumn in mind can be found in this next offering that I hope you enjoy.

I used a wooden bowl for my canvas and created a landscape scene using an early saltbox as the focal point. Limestone walls that are painted a warm mustard color lend a pleasing backdrop to the black windows, door as well as the roof. Trees with subdued fall undertones dot the landscape behind this home while whimsical hearts float effortlessly in the air which symbolizes my love for this time of year. A white picket fence accent that borders the sides of the saltbox adds interest.

The back of this bowl sports a lamplight black base coat that has been aged and is signed by me. Of course the three paw prints were placed under my name to act as a little trademark as I am so fond of animals. This bowl is very versatile and can be used in so many ways to decorate your home for fall….. whether it be in a cupboard or placed on the top stack of your wooden bowls, this creation is sure add character and charm to your lovely homestead.
