Toy Queen Stove With Accessories Neat

#608

Regular price $59.95

What a darling little stove that is just a delight to present! I have had this in my collection for over twenty years and purchased it in Ohio on a buying trip. This little gem comes with all the accessories as pictured and is complete.

There is some debate whether or not this stove is either a salesman sample or a toy. To complicate matters further some believe that stoves like these are antiques while others say they are reproductions. When I purchased this piece I was told it was an antique and I believed the dealer as I was just starting out in the antique business. Upon further investigation I now feel this piece was used as a toy and is a very nice reproduction. When I delved into this subject a little deeper I learned that "Robert Emig Co." or "Greycraft" designed and produced copies of products from earlier periods in history. This company was founded in 1945 and based in Reading, PA. Robert contacted nearby foundries to cast either toy stoves or accessories and upon completion he would then distribute these products. Mystery solved

This stove is in excellent condition and shows very well. The form is terrific sporting splayed feet with a detailed half moon arch on the front, left side that supports another cooking area. There is a flat head screw located at the top that holds a threaded rod which does penetrate through to the bottom base where it is secured by a square nut. The bottom is stamped, "Made in the USA" as shown in image 15. The rear piece located in the back is removable and so is the side plate. Actually this side plate can either be placed near the top of the stove, off to the right (near the stove plates) or can be positioned directly underneath near the bottom area.

The accessories include, a coal shuttle with shovel, a cast iron kettle with a wire handle, a skillet and a cooking pot with a long handle. I filled the kettle with dried corn kernels and the pot is filled with colorful soup beans. These accoutrements are also included with this offering.

This stove boasts stunning detailed features as shown in images 5 & 6 of the reversed and overlaid floral design that may possibly be a tulip. A stove lifter is also included and completes this well themed accessory line.

This interesting stove would look awesome on your kitchen counter or even tucked inside a small open cupboard. The accessories make it such a fun and whimsical piece to own and will promote hours of sheer enjoyment!

The stove stands 6 1/4" high (including the tall piece on the back, stove itself measures 5" across (right to left), measures another 6 1/2" across with the stove plate and measures 4" deep (front to back) not including the splayed feet. The skillet measures a little over 2 1/4" (including the long handle), 1 1/2" not including the handle measurement and is about 1/4" thick. The kettle stands about 2" tall (including the wire handle, pot itself stands 1 1/4" tall and measures 1 3/4" across the top. The pot measures 2 1/2" (including the handle), 1 1/2" without the handle measurement and is about 3/4" tall.
