🕯️Interesting "witches hat" style oil lamp dating from 1820 to 1830 that is accented with wee pumpkins laid inside the base. The simulated (witches hat form) makes for a nice and quaint display. Originally this lamp would have accommodated either a single or double burner fashioned from brass that would essentially screw into the threaded counterpart at the top location. Convenient carrying ring applied to at the base. The burner is missing and this piece now functions as a unique candle holder.
There is an inconsequential dent located on the front in the middle location. Solder marks are present on the inner portion of the base. The back of the base does have areas that are turned in and bent over along with a random wavy appearance with areas of surface rust as shown.
Overall condition is still good and this piece shows well. Nice smaller size that will fit anywhere of your choosing! Early lighting pieces such as this one are hard to find and this unique piece is a must for any antique collector. Enjoy! 🕯️
Stands 5 ¾” tall, top opening measures almost 1” across and graduates down to 2”. Base measures 4 ¼” across.
