19th Century Bowl with Nutcracker

🥜Exceptional early to mid-19th century honest bowl showing out of round form, glorious patina having an incised edge just below the outside rim. Vintage carved Nutcracker is also included.

Tight fishers located near the edge are visible on the inside as well as the outside as shown. A cluster of dark areas are also present on the outside and inside that appear at random. White marks in the form of horizontal lines appear near the hanging hole and on the left hand side (near the crack). A couple of tiny holes though hardly visible are located on the inside bottom area. Nice smooth edges that only time can lend. Condition is still good and this piece shows well.

Nutcracker has been carved out of one piece of wood and exhibits a threaded middle section that connects to the opening. Intricate carved appearance seems to mimic a walnut. A nut can be placed inside the hole and by twisting the bottom section the shell will crack under pressure. Excellent condition without any chips or wood loss to report.

This bowl is a real beauty and should excite any woodenware collector. Great display piece also offering enriched snack opportunities for family and friends. Enjoy!

Measures 14 1/2” across (right to left) and measures 14” across (front to back), almost 4” tall @ the highest point (sides), measures 3 ¼” where the hanging hole is located and measures 6 ½” across the bottom (flat area touching the surface it is placed on). Nutcracker stands 8” tall in the fully open position and the opening measures 1 ½”.
