Cookie Mold Carved Gingerbread Springerle

#832

Sale price $155.50 Regular price $195.50

Interesting and showy, late 19th century wooden cookie mold intricately carved sporting an individual floral motif gracing all four corners along with a series of leaves that join the party in the center-field. These molds were especially popular for holiday baking and at weddings rendering either Gingerbread, Springerle (German) or Speculass (Dutch) cookies that were presented with beautiful designs.

The warm patina speaks for itself and there are two wire hangers present; one at the top and the other on the back. Minor age related cracks limited to the bottom edge. The back shows a dark area near the bottom with an array of scratches.

This example has a clean, crisp folk art design and is in good overall condition without any chips to report. Happy Baking! Enjoy!
