Two gallon stoneware jug marked” Jas. Benjamin, Stoneware Depo, Cincinnati, Ohio” done in exciting cobalt using a stencil that dates from around 1880. Small chips are present, two near the edge of the top opening and the other near the bottom edge location.
There are also several small cracks one just below the applied handle where it joins the shoulder and the other is located on the mouth. One lone “turkey dropping” can be found on the top opening.
Jug has experienced a kiln burn that appears as a pale salmon hue shown vertically on the left hand side. Still shows well and would make a nice addition to your stoneware collection. Enjoy!
Stands 12 ½” tall, measures 1” across the top opening and measures 8” across the bottom.
~Freight (Standard Mail) included, however Insurance is optional and can be purchased @ checkout ~ within the continental U.S.
