Unique wall box showing great decorative form having four divided sections (three on the top followed by a single longer pocket below) that gesture a fun decorating opportunity. **Items inside offered as a decorative suggestion and are not included.
Wall box constructed of white pine, dates to the last quarter of the 19th to the early 20th century and was probably used as a desk “catch all” for organization purposes. Decorative crest and bottom were added separately as noted in the horizontal line. An addition of a vertical center support (bracket) that resides below having curved form.
One exposed nail showing wood loss in the front on the right-hand side along with minor wood loss to the top bracket where the nail is located. Dry and dark patinated surface with lighter variations add plenty of character. Appearance is not bulky as the wood used is only ¼” thick. Nice condition and shows well suggesting a great folk-art appearance.
Wall box stands 13” tall @ the tallest point (round top of crest), measures 13” across (middle section) and is 3 ½” deep. Each top triple sectioned compartments measure 3 ¾” across. Bottom pocket measures 3 ½” tall.
