We are so excited to present this unusual and rare butter mold that boasts oval form with raised sides that has the appearance of a small trencher. The hand carved floral design in the center is very delicate and pretty. This piece may also have English origin and the warm patina is just delicious! You will also receive the gourd spoon filled with wee pumpkins as a bonus.
This attractive mold sporting uncommonly found attributes relating to the sunken in sides (front and back) located near the bottom protruding edge as shown in images 1, 2, 5 & 6 makes for a special piece indeed. The convenient edge may have been used to easily grasp the bottom of the mold to aid in removing after the butter was formed. There are dark areas sprinkled randomly throughout along with various tight cracks located on the right and left hand sides that slowly work their way to the front and back locations as referenced in images 2 & 6. Tiny holes also appear at random.
This unique mold would be a perfect addition to any collection and can also be displayed as a stand-alone as it is that fabulous! You can add tiny berries in the scoop along with some wispy greens inside for the holidays set on a round bread peel with other pieces of treen and old cookie cutters placed nearby! Enjoy!
Butter mold measures 6 ½” across (right to left), stands 1 ¾” tall and measures 3 ¼” front to back. Gourd spoon is 3 ½” tall and the bowl measures 1 ¼” across.
