Nice 1840 – 1860 Hershey, Pennsylvania small open pantry box in later green paint filled with festive accents including a Putz Sheep for the holidays. Box is in good condition less a small crack on the lower left hand side and sports a nice oval shape.
There is some writing in pencil on the bottom but is illegible. Single lapped over construction on the front with well deserved aged patina on the bottom. Putz sheep sporting a cornflower blue collar is in overall good condition and stands on her own. Small ear chips related to both ears on the right and left side.
Greens can be substituted with other small items such as cinnamon sticks, anise and other spices for your kitchen or roving wool and clay pipe bowls, etc. for everyday decorating. Enjoy!
Overall height including the Putz Sheep is 3 ½” tall, box stands 1 ½” tall, measures 4 ¼” across the top and bottom and is 3 ¾” deep (front to back). Sheep stands almost 2 1/2” tall, measures almost 2 ¼” from nose to tail, measures ½” over the back.
