Antique Savory Tin Measure with Christmas Tree and Authentic Sugar Cone Ornaments

Looking for something different this Christmas that will add interest to your kitchen or pantry? Well here it is. This one of a kind Christmas tree decorated with (6) six authentic Sugar Cones and dried Crepe Myrtle promises to satisfy anyone who loves primitive. The tree looks right at home in an old "Savory" tin measure which is also included with this offering.

The antique tin measure actually has a heavier weight than the standard tin measures we normally see. It is marked 1 Pt. Liq., U.S. standard. Penna., New Jersey, New York City and does have appropriate wear. This piece is a little shiny but also boasts dark tin on the raised letters, seam and applied handle.

I used a piece of florists foam and placed this inside to steady the tree. No glue was used and a hole is centered in the foam to accommodate the pointed end at the bottom of the tree. This tree will be packed separately from the tin base as it will be easier to ship.

The sugar cones are authentic and have been wrapped in aged cheesecloth that is secured by wire then wrapped twice. The hangers are individually made and no two are exactly alike. Did you notice the hand ~ fashioned detail on the end of these hangers? They almost mimic the early look of a candlestick.

A small aged fabric heart in a neutral oatmeal color that has been hand stitched graces the top of the tree. Dried Crepe Myrtle was randomly placed inside the tree to add texture and color.

The overall height from the tin base to the top of the tree is 16 1/2". The tin measures almost 5" Tall, 3 1/2" across the base and 3 1/4" across the top. The widest length of the tree is 7" across. Each Sugar cone measures about 2 1/2" tall including the wire hanger by 1" across the top and tapers to 1 1/2" across the bottom.
