Early Native American Effigy Ladle

#915

Regular price $85.50

What a great piece of treen that sports primitive carved form and dates to the 18th century. It is a native American piece that was fashioned from maple and boasts an effigy handle with mild detail.

The surface is dry and a mixture of dark and lighter areas seem to be woven into this early piece factoring in the age related wear that consists of a series of chips on the edges of the ladle as shown in images 3 & 4. A crack is located on the bottom edge of the ladle and terminates about 2” inward as referenced in image 8.

The handle is smooth from years of use and the end has a gentle curve as shown in images 9 & 10. This piece of treen would make a wonderful addition to your collection of kitchen woodenware as it displays well and has 18th century character that is quite exciting! Enjoy!

Measures 11 “ tall, handle graduates from 1” to 1 ½” near the bottom, ladle measures 4 ¼” across @ the widest point and the curved end measures 1 ½” tall.

~Freight (Standard Mail) included, however Insurance is optional and can be purchased @ checkout ~ within the continental U.S.
