Exceptional smaller version of a German marked hide covered horse that is not commonly found. I added a pull toy base we made based on antique examples. His bridle, saddle, reins and stirrups are intact. One glass eye was missing and I happened to have a replacement. However, it is just a tad larger and the color is stronger than the original.
There is wear on the leather bridle as shown along with some loss to his mane. In this case soft hair was used on the mane and tail rather than using original horse hair which is more common. His mouth is also open which is another unusual trait. The coloration in the hide shows a lighter color on his legs and his head compared to the warm tan on his coat. Condition is very good and he shows quite well! This horse has personality plus and probably dates to 1900 to 1930.
Overall height is 4” tall (base to ears), horse stands 3 1/4” tall (feet to top of his ears), measures 4” from the nose to tail and measures ¾” across his rump. Base stands 1” tall, measures 4” across and is 2” deep (front to back).
