Marked “Duofold” on the inside tag lends a clue for the history of this company that started in “1906”. They produced an innovative two-layer thermal underwear combining soft cotton and wool which added warmth by revolutionizing cold-weather apparel.
This “Union Suit” (marked Small, probably for an adult), is in very good condition with just one small tear on the right leg as shown and one tiny dark spot on the left arm below the shoulder. The color is strong and there are no holes to report. I added child’s stockings that lazily hang off to the left accented with holiday greens held together with red thread stitched directly on the suit.
The hanger was partially wrapped at the top with candy cane variegated yarn while a lone felt heart accented with a stitched acorn resides in the center location. Custom hanger was double wrapped using wire lending durability. This textile would also make a statement hung on the back of an interior door adding yuletide charm within your home for the holidays.
Overall height including hanger is 59 ¼” tall, suit is 52 ½” tall, measures 14 ½” from shoulder to shoulder and measures 19 ½” cuff to cuff which is the widest point.
