Miniature Three Drawer Dresser

Most of us seem to adore anything that possesses built in drawers not to mention the intrinsic value miniature pieces hold……so this next offering should be very tempting……especially because of the size. This miniature dresser sporting three dovetailed drawers (bottom drawer is taller) exhibits a warm patina along with bun feet that were probably added later. The feet elevate this box and add special character to the overall form. Even though this dresser boasts a simplistic style the warm hue in the wood along with the turned drawer knobs is very exciting!

This piece dates to the late 19th century to early 20th century and is in overall good condition. There are some areas of wear as noted on the top edge of the bottom drawer as referenced in image 29. All of the drawers pertaining to the inside location show vestiges of green marks that could be the culprit of a child playing with a crayon. All drawers seem to have a chamfered edge on the bottom area so they fit snugly into place.

The underside of one of the drawers has experienced some separation with an old glue repair as shown in images 33 & 34. This thin piece of wood does stay in place but is not completely secured to the side counterpart as shown. There are minor surface scratches sprinkled randomly throughout and are only visible when direct light is a factor.

A very tiny chip is located on the top edge (left hand side) near the middle. The back and bottom location exhibits a different color then the rest of the box as shown in image 5 & 36. Tiny round nails were countersunk into the back of the dresser as referenced in image 6.

This darling dresser does not take up much room and would be great displayed with your child’s or miniature collections. This piece would also look perfect set on a side table or on top of a mantle with other  primitives placed nearby. Miniatures are so much fun to collect but are getting harder to find as there is a demand in the market. If you favor this piece, don’t hesitate to call it your own. Enjoy!
