Small trees used in old things like this one I pared up in an old stoneware brown crock are a nice alternative to the larger trees we are so accustomed to. These trees can be used all over the house to bring enchantment to every room sprinkled with holiday magic and primitive appeal!
Candles were used as a focal and were hand wrapped with aged cheesecloth and then wire. You will receive (6). There is a little loop at the top of the wire to act as a hanger for the branches. These candles were also lightly dusted in spices too! Two Dried Quince slices along with sweet gum balls were added for color and texture.
I took some dried pyracantha from my garden and added this to some quirky open pods that give this tree a very primitive look. Two dried tangerines look right at home among the mix while (2) gorgeous smudge feathers lend interest to the overall look. A simple gourd holds high regard on top of this tree and is tied with aged cheesecloth.
This One ~ Of ~ A ~ Kind tree has kind of a Williamsburg theme going on, in keeping to tradition, while the other accents used spell "primitive charm" all the way!
The old Brown Stoneware Canning Crock makes a handsome base for the tree! This crock is in good condition without any cracks to report. It does have some marks close to the bottom on each side as can be seen in images, 12, 14 & 15.
There are several rim chips but the color substantiates this happened long ago. The color of the crock is just beautiful, as shown in images 9 & 10 taken outdoors, boasting a rich nutmeg color, NOT a deep chocolate brown that is more commonly seen. The tree has a little log base and can just be set into the crock as the branches will evenly distribute the weight.
This unique piece would look awesome on top of a cupboard, in your pantry or on a farmhouse table spread with candles all aglow! Great impressive size and will really stand out in any cozy corner of your home. Happy Holidays and Enjoy!
Overall height is almost 23". The crock is 7" Tall, about 5 1/2" across the bottom, & the opening is 4" but tapers down to 3 1/4". The tree stand 18" Tall. The ornament sizes vary but are 2" to 4 ".
