Beautiful carved and painted piggin possibly having Pennsylvania origin dating from the late 19th to early 20th century. Well-made sporting forged strap iron bands secured with hammered rivets. Nicely executed chip carvings make for a special piece as well as the painted features lending a primitive color palette depicting a floral motif.

**Please Note: Rag balls not included but used as a decorating suggestion.

Piggin is in great overall condition without any chips or cracks to report. Color inconsistencies in the wood lend character. Nicely executed reverse triangle pattern shown above the top metal band lends folk art appeal. Large hanging hole allows for another possibility of how this piece can be displayed. Enjoy!

Overall height including handle 13”, stands 8” tall without handle, measures7 ½” across the top opening and measures 6 ½” across the bottom.
