Candles Lit with Birds Nest Springtime Fun for Your Homestead

Spring is such a great season that promises warmer weather, beautiful flowers and of course a fresh new decorating look in our homesteads. These candles are just perfect for this time of year and offer cozy light to any room in your home.

I chose these candles because they have an authentic look and even have wax on the outside and inside surface. To take it a step further they even have realistic drips on the outside as well! The color is a soft buttercup yellow and the tiny light inside has a warm glow that even flickers. This bulb can be enjoyed for approximately 100,000 hours and the good news is you don't have to worry about a flame! You will need to purchase three AAA batteries and then you are good to go!

I added a wonderful image from a 1800's book entitled, "Nests and Eggs" that was hand ~ stitched on a piece of old burlap using black thread. In keeping with this theme, I made two little hangers for the bird nests out of aged wire that just hang over the top edge of the candle. These little nests were fashioned from a deep chocolate brown roving wool and little eggs were added. Sweet!

The smaller candle is a nice compliment to the larger one and has a beautiful image of an early sampler boasting birds and trees that remind me of spring. I added a handmade nest that can just be tucked inside of the opening.

This interesting set of candles would look great on a small table possibly with early books nearby or can even grace a primitive shelf with ease. Another idea is to place one in the center of an old wooden bowl accented with dried Prairie Grass and small gourds that surround it.

There is an "on & off" switch so once the sun has set you can enjoy the warm glow of these candles all evening long for a magical feeling that will display charming results! Enjoy!

The large candle measures 6" Tall by 3" across the bottom and the top opening is 2" Deep. The small candle stands 4" Tall by 3" across the bottom and the top opening is 1 1/2" Deep. The roving wool larger bird nest measures 1 1/4" across & is almost 1" Tall. The smaller roving wool nest is 1" across the top and 1" Tall. Larger nest for the smaller candle measures 2" across the top and is almost 1/2" Tall.
