What a unique and enchanting gathering that will bring color and charm into your kitchen for the holidays! The primitive paddle, authentic sugar cone and festive accoutrements are all included.
This 19th century hand carved paddle fashioned from one piece of wood blesses us with a dynamic original surface boasting a dark coloration around the edges while a lighter color forms a circle in the middle. This piece could also be considered a utilitarian board for various kitchen duties as the middle area is slightly concave from years of use.
There is a tight crack located on the front of the board on the right hand side but is not present on the back. A chip located on the top of the handle in the back shows as a crack referenced in image 20. The edges also possess several chips sprinkled at random but the dark surface seems to hide this circumstance. The handle is smooth from years of use and the honest wear is refreshing.
I added an authentic sugar cone that takes center stage accented with pretty holiday greens along with a candy cane. It was wrapped at the bottom with aged cheesecloth and red cloth. Dried fruit along with nuts and a pair of cinnamon sticks favor a Williamsburg look and were incorporated around the sugar cone to add even more color lending a traditional look.
This unusual gathering can be placed on a kitchen countertop or will grace a holiday table bringing Colonial style and magic for this special time of year! Enjoy!
Paddle measures 15 ¼” long (including the handle), paddle measures 5” across the top and measures 4 ½” across the bottom. Handle measures a little over 1” across. Sugar cone stands 4 ½” tall, measures 1” across the top and measures 2 ½” across the bottom.
