Very unusual corn slaw cutter board dating to the 1820 ~ 1840 period having a single board base, slot mounted edge as well as mounted side rails. Garlic is included and hangs lazily off to the right.

The scribe marks implemented (near the bottom) were used to position the side pieces as this piece was homemade and probably used on a farm. Forged nail construction and a carbon steel cutting blade are indications of an early piece. Nice narrow form showing a tombstone top and exciting dark consistent patina throughout.

There are some age related cracks in the back near the top above the hole as well as below but do not show through on the front location. Minor surface scratches also exist but are hard to detect. No chips or wood loss present. Would look terrific handing on a narrow wall in your kitchen! Enjoy!

Stands 17” tall, measures 3 ½” across and is 1 ¼” deep.
